‘strptime()’ now also returns ‘NA’ for out of range ‘"%OS"’ and a correct error message in some wrong multibyte cases, fixing PR#19117 comment #1 and PR#19122 by Michael Chirico; additionally, some overflow to ‘Inf’ times no longer result in ‘NA’.
‘ksmooth(x,y, x.points=NULL)’ now returns an empty (x,y) pair instead of crashing R, fixing PR#19153.
Deprecated (for more than 9 years!) functions ‘linearizeMlist’, ‘listFromMlist’, and ‘showMlist’ and the ‘"MethodsList"’ class for S4 method handling were removed from package ‘methods’. Deprecated functions ‘balanceMethodsList’, ‘emptyMethodsList’, ‘insertMethod’, ‘makeMethodsList’, ‘mergeMethods’, ‘MethodsList’, ‘MethodsListSelect’, and ‘SignatureMethod’ were made defunct, as were the ‘"MethodsList"’ branches of functions ‘assignMethodsMetaData’, ‘finalDefaultMethod’, and ‘MethodAddCoerce’.
