‘domain = NA’ is accepted by ‘gettext()’ and ‘ngettext()’, analogously to ‘stop()’ etc.
The Fortran code underlying ‘nlminb()’ could infinite-loop if any of
the functions returned ‘NA’ or ‘NaN’. This is now an error for the
gradient or Hessian, and a warning for the function (with the value
replaced by ‘Inf’).
